National Release 20th August, 2003 |
Lasertech and Breakthrough Breast Cancer team to raise money as well as awareness with the Lasertech Recycling Programme
Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research and awareness. Breakthrough's vision is a future free from the fear of breast cancer, a vision which is made more achievable by working with corporate partners like Lasertech.
Lasertech provide businesses, schools and organisations throughout the UK with recycling bins for them to collect Used Cartridges in. When the bins are full they are collected by Lasertech and the participants of the programme are then credited. A percentage of this credit can then be donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Through the Programme Lasertech will help to raise much needed funds, the money that is raised will go towards funding research; research that is preventing, diagnosing and treating breast cancer. Also through this research women and men can receive help, support and medication.
As 1 in 9 women will develop Breast Cancer at some point in their lifetime the donations made will also go towards raising awareness. The continuous work of Breakthrough Breast Cancer will mean more people are educated about the disease and are therefore aware of the risks. During the 1990s, 20,000 deaths from Breast Cancer were avoided and this was with the help of the continuing awareness campaigns of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
As a beneficiary charity of Lasertech, Breakthrough Breast Cancer can continue providing care, support and help to patients and also raise awareness. The recycling programme not only benefits the environment and customers but also raises money for a worthy cause.
